The story has solid potential, but the film never decides if it’s a wacky dark comedy or a sweetly sentimental family drama. And these are two genres that simply can never coexist! The result is a general awkwardness from start to finish, as we never know whether a line is meant to be funny or serious. Each scene is obviously meant to mean something, but we can’t tell what. And the bland orchestral score never gives us a clue. Performances are fine (although Hamilton’s broad turn seems like it’s from another movie), with especially strong work from Wilkinson and Walters, as usual. But the script feels uneven and clunky in its attempts to examine the unreliable nature of memory and nostalgia, and its insistence in touching on every family issue imaginable–grief, marital strain, loneliness, ambition, sibling rivalry, the mother-daughter thing. All while leaving a gaping black hole where the father figure so obviously must have been. At age 82, veteran director Gilbert still has a way with actors. But the rest of his film is a mess.

THE Conjuring actually tells two stories. One is, the family of seven Perron, pulling 1971 in her posh royal dream home. Ike Barinholtz and Dave Stassen wrote the original script, with Central Intelligence Movie 2016 Sean Anders and John Morris penning a subsequent draft and Thurber taking another pass on the latest draft of the Central Intelligence movie script.

Directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber (Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, We’re the Millers), New Line Cinema and Universal Pictures’ Central Intelligence movie is set to hit theaters June 17, 2016. Dwayne Johnson has shared a new look at his character “Bob” from the upcoming New Line Cinema buddy action-comedy Central Intelligence. Johnson is headlining the feature opposite Kevin Hart (The Wedding Ringer, Get Hard). Amy Ryan, Danielle Nicolet and Bobby Brown are also set to co-star in the Rawson Marshall Thurber-directed film.

The dragonfly messenger shows a projection of Ennogard, played by Natalie Dormer look-a-like Kaitlin Doubleday, in which she explains that the Pete’s Dragon evil wizard Lord Tensley (played by James Marsters) is keeping her hostage at his castle and offers great riches (as well as her body and soul, but we’ll come back to that) to whomever should rescue her. This is more than enough to spike Ramicus’s interest, and soon they’re all on a mission to slay wicked beasts and rescue golden-haired beauties.

few scenes in the first act of Pete’s Dragon were too long, making it feel laboured. For instance, there is a scene in which Camilan (Maclain Nelson) asks his parents for their permission to marry Larec the Elf Princess (Clare Niederpruem), and another, where he tries to convince his brother Ramicus (Adam Johnson) to take a wife in order to relieve pressures from their parents off his marriage to Larec. These were unnecessarily long scenes and were to obviously only there for exposition.

Described as somewhere between The Lord of the Rings and The Princess Bride, Dudes & Dragons follows Camilan and Ramicus’s quite different quests. Camilan is fighting to save the Elf Princess, and Ramicus is just in it for the booty. Along with Camilan’s stable boy Samton (Jake Van Wagoner) and the somewhat disgruntled Shokdor the Ork (Erik Denton), they embark on their epic quest.

The Boss." At their core, both films are good-hearted, but this blissfully R-rated vehicle for Melissa McCarthy  carries a raucously acidic sting that would make Long's Phyllis Nefler blush. Writer-director Ben Falcone (2014's "Tammy") and co-writers McCarthy and Steve Mallory have woven a narrative in need of a little more focus and follow-through, but they do succeed where it most counts. First and foremost, this is a very The Boss 2016 Movie funny movie, sometimes uproariously so. Inspired by a character she originated during her time performing in L.A.-based improv group The Groundlings, McCarthy has once again breathed irrepressible life and spirit into a truly original creation.

Michelle Darnell (Melissa McCarthy) is the 47th wealthiest woman in America, a thought-unstoppable CEO of three Fortune 500 companies who receives a rude awakening when she is arrested for insider trading. Following a five-month stint in federal prison, Michelle is dismayed to learn she has lost everything her companies, her reputation, her mansion, her possessions, and all her money. With nowhere else to turn, she convinces her overworked, underappreciated former assistant, single mom Claire (Kristen Bell), to let her stay with her until she gets back on her feet. 

                                             

Feeling sorry for herself can only last so long, and soon Michelle's innate cutthroat drive to succeed has her scheming her next venture. Inspired by Claire's delicious homemade treats and Claire's daughter Rachel's (Ella Anderson) Dandelion troop, Michelle recruits a group of get-getter young girls and spearheads Darnell's Darlings, a for-profit brownie business. Heartened by her old boss' offer to make her a 50-50 partner, Claire agrees to join forces on this endeavor. For someone who, as a child, was constantly rejected by foster families and raised in an orphanage, Michelle still has trust issues a lifelong hang-up which threaten to dismantle Darnell's Darlings as she gets closer to Claire and Rachel.

There is an outrageously funny scene in "The Boss," set at a five-star restaurant where Michelle is determined to enjoy her pufferfish cuisine, that is so perfectly written, performed and edited for maximum comic impact it scarcely would matter even if the rest of the film fell flat (it doesn't). If the top priority of a comedy is to make the audience laugh, this one more than succeeds; on two separate occasions, including the one mentioned above, tears streamed down my face while uncontrollable hysterics and gasps for oxygen took over. As often is the case with movies where a lot of gags and one-liners are tossed at the screen in hopes of sticking, not every joke hits its target. More do than not, though, and the pretty consistently amusing results do wonders to smooth over a predictable plot trajectory and obligatory ploys in the third act to redeem Michelle and her unsavory-at-best, awful-at-worst behavior.

Aw, are you squirting tears already? I avoided it when it first came out because I thought it would just be way too emotional and I wasn’t in the mood for that at the time. Plus there was SO much hype. Hype always makes me wary. I kind of forgot about it until the movie trailer came out. It looked interesting and super cute, so I thought I’d give it a shot.

I went in expecting to love these characters and their sad, cheesy tragic romance, and end up ugly crying at the end. Nope. First of all, where was the love story? It seemed like we were going along alright for awhile, flirting, getting to know each other. And then the whole story kind of got derailed by mundane details and stupid random people’s POVs (that I really didn’t think needed to be in there.) I felt like we lost all our momentum and by the time we got to the big climactic scene, I really didn’t feel much of anything for the characters anymore besides annoyance. Their interactions at the end seemed cold and awkward. And honestly Will WAS being incredibly stupid and bull headed and heartless and selfish. Call it what you want, hate me if you want. He was. He was acting like a 2 year old throwing a fit and instead of trying AT ALL, he was just giving up. If he couldn’t have everything exactly the way he wanted it to be then he didn’t want anything at all.

Pakula film with Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman; or the underrated "I believe in you" with the role of James Stewart directed by Henry Hathaway.

This excellent Spotlight focuses on meticulous journalistic investigation by the Boston Globe on cases of pedophilia in the Catholic Church in the city of Boston. With All the President's Men as clear reference, Spotlight refers to the research team that uncovered the scandal in the American tabloid.

With a start sober and straightforward scene, the film makes us partakers of all the steps taken by some tenacious journalists to reveal a scandal: not only the sexual abuse of children, but the shameful behavior of the Catholic hierarchy, which not only buried (and buries) all cases, but allowed (and allows) repetition over the years.And although we are all aware of these despicable acts, McCarthy gets spread the excitement of the elaborate investigations of four journalists who gradually open Pandora's box, revealing the shames of the important and untouchable religious institution.
