I avoided it when it first came out because I thought it would just be way too emotional and I wasn’t in the mood for that at the time. Plus there was SO much hype. Hype always makes me wary. I kind of forgot about it until the movie trailer came out. It looked interesting and super cute, so I thought I’d give it a shot.

I went in expecting to love these characters and their sad, cheesy tragic romance, and end up ugly crying at the end. Nope. First of all, where was the love story? It seemed like we were going along alright for awhile, flirting, getting to know each other. And then the whole story kind of got derailed by mundane details and stupid random people’s POVs (that I really didn’t think needed to be in there.) I felt like we lost all our momentum and by the time we got to the big climactic scene, I really didn’t feel much of anything for the characters anymore besides annoyance. Their interactions at the end seemed cold and awkward. And honestly Will WAS being incredibly stupid and bull headed and heartless and selfish. Call it what you want, hate me if you want. He was. He was acting like a 2 year old throwing a fit and instead of trying AT ALL, he was just giving up. If he couldn’t have everything exactly the way he wanted it to be then he didn’t want anything at all.

"Comme un avion" (2015) is the first film by actor / director Bruno Podalydès in which he plays the lead. In his earlier work, he allows himself mostly bit parts and cameos. In the end, I think Tomorrowland is “it’s the thought that counts” all the way, and as it has, my assessment is quite positive. It is a film which is more than what it is, and has to be: when it comes to the wonder of that force that invites us to imagine and evade; if it is, in the words of the film itself, believing that anything is possible, our imagination noses always fly higher than what comes out on the screen.
I think of Jurassic Park, one of the great films par excellence. I have always believed that they were not (only) the dinosaurs: the key was Dr. Alan Grant, with the broken face of wonder, looking at dinosaurs at that first meeting.
Tomorrowland is not the CGI, which thus gives, or cliché of being or not being special or whatever.
In a Hollywood dominated by franchises, Tomorrowland is a rarity: it is not an adaptation of another material – be it a novel, a comic, or a series of old TV – not a remake or sequel made unnecessary for money. It’s a film  hd quality movies download with a genesis that is increasingly less: born of an original idea.
The “land of tomorrow” of the title is a futuristic city, the one to which they want to get our two characters: Casey (Britt Robertson), a bright future eternal optimist, and Frank (George Clooney), a former inventor become a cynical recluse. Being a Disney production, this is an optimistic film, almost as much as its protagonist. There is not a shred of cynicism, something new for an audience already accustomed to the antiheroes and black humor. Even he could be accused of innocent or naive. It reveals a simple style of filmmaking like something out of another era.
Many take Frank’s position, that of bitter that refuses to believe; but ultimately it is easy to accept the fantasy. There are moments here that can make you feel like a child; again surprised by what surrounds us and marveled at all the possibilities. It’s the kind of magic that Disney does well; not in vain Brad Bird is responsible for two of the best films of Pixar, The Incredibles and Ratatouille.
Beyond its positive message, the director and his screenwriter, Damon Lindelof, sometimes diminish the flight of his own film, trying to reason and explain a story that must operate on the basis of pure imagination, as when young Frank present their inventions.
