As the title implies, “Manhattan Murder Mystery” and whodunit murder mystery, but one in which humor plays a crucial role. The marriage of Carol Lipton (Diane Keaton) and her husband Larry (Woody Allen) has been a grind, but that changes abruptly as neighbor Lilian House (Lynn Cohen) suddenly dies. Initially assume a heart attack as cause of death, but Carol has her doubts about it. While police decides the case as a route job, she focuses its sights on Lilian’s husband Paul (Jerry Adler). She thinks it is not enough mourning his deceased wife and so suspicious. Her good friend Ted (Alan Alda) encourages it to do research and so she looks for clues to endorse her murder theory. However, the evidence is not sufficient and Larry is increasingly worried about his wife; he thinks they must abandon its macabre obsession. Carol however is stubborn and convinced that she is right. Since nobody is listening to him, Larry decides the game than just playing along. Also girlfriend Marcia (Anjelica Huston) is going to interfere.
